Voted the winner by an illustrious panel of judges, the three-wheeled KAAN has been conceived as a contender in a race series called E1: 2025's fastest formula, with electrically-driven vehicles.
The KAAN's styling has been inspired by electric fields and lightning bolts. The driver sits in a capsule, isolated from the electricity-conducting wheels - Mazda's team envisages a future in which California's freeways have been resurfaced with 'a sub-level electro-conductive polymer', sending power to the cars, and allowing for races where teams of 30 cars stick together, rather like a cycle-racing peleton.
