As 44m Iranians prepare to cast their votes in Friday's parliamentary elections, the country's supreme leader has warned voters not to support candidates backed by Western 'enemies'.
Hundreds of reformists have been banned from standing, but the authorities are hoping for a high turnout to show how popular their system is.
Inflation's running at almost 20 per cent and unemployment is also high. Yet that's unlikely to translate into any substantial opposition to President Ahmadinejad.
