Terror on Crocodile Island

Scene from the programme Terror on Crocodile Island

A party of five set out for a day's relaxation and fishing on the Zambezi river in Zambia. Arthur Taylor and Alistair Gellatly are experienced game wardens. Along with them are Arthur's wife, Faye Taylor and her parents Brenda and Clive.

The day begins well and the party drift down the river enjoying superb game viewing. They passed lots of schools of hippos lazing in the water and saw plenty of crocs sunning themselves on the banks. To everyone's delight, Brenda, who was not a keen fisher-woman, caught a fish.

The party had just turned their thoughts to lunch, when, bang, and they were in the water. A loan male hippo had taken exception to the boat and rammed it, turning it over in the process. The Zambezi river is home to some of the oldest and biggest crocodiles in the world. Swimming here is the worst possible nightmare.
